Dr Martina Klimes is an Advisor for Water and Peace at Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and the International Centre for Water Cooperation (ICWC) where she is responsible for the Water and Peace portfolio in addition to advising on SIWI’s on dialogue facilitation and activities in transboundary basins affected by water scarcity, political tensions, and armed violence. She is the author of the 2016 book Using Carrots to Bring Peace? Negotiation and Third Party Involvement (World Scientific). Dr Klimes also serves as a member of World Water Week Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) and is Associated Research Fellow at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP) in Stockholm.
